Fiser Group was organized in 1992 by Mitchell Fiser, as a full service accounting and business consulting firm for independently owned medical practices. In 1996, Billing Services were added to our firm as many of our clients were frustrated with their billing vendors and asked us to provide these quality services to them. Over the years, Fiser Group has expanded its practice to include not only medical practices but other private businesses, emerging or start-up firms, and successful individuals.

The Financial Planning division of Fiser Group was added to complete the full service small business firm that we have become today. By having a Financial Planning firm in-house, our departments are able to work together to find the best possible solution for each client. We pride ourselves on our ability to offer services that rival any large accounting, consulting or financial planning firm with the kind of personal service and ethics that you can only find in a privately owned, home town firm.

*Mitchell S. Fiser - President/CEO mfiser@fisergroup.com As founder and president of Fiser Group in Lenexa, Mitch Fiser has built one of Kansas City's most trusted firms that professionals and physicians turn to for their business and practice needs. A CPA and CFP (Certified Financial Planner), Mitch's introduction into health care began in 1982 as a tax specialist for KPMG-Peat Marwick in Kansas City, Missouri. From there, Mitch went on to a regional Healthcare Consulting Firm based in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked in the KC office for seven years, the last two as a partner in the firm. Mitch established Fiser Group in 1992 to provide consulting and accounting services to small businesses. Over the last 16 years, Mitch has expanded Fiser Group to include financial planning, medical billing services and credentialing services. Mitch graduated with a B.S. in accounting from Kansas State University, received his CPA certificate in 1983 and his CFP certificate in 1985. He is a current member of the Kansas Society of CPAs and the Greater Kansas City Medical Managers Association. Mitch also serves as an Elder of his church. Mitch and his wife Susan have been married for 27 years and have a son and a daughter, both are attending Kansas State University. Mitch enjoys spending time with his family supporting the Kansas City Chiefs and K-State Wildcats. They also enjoy a variety of other activities including golf, snow skiing and taking trips to the lake.

Thomas Thornhill - Tax & Accounting Partner tomthornhill@fisergroup.com Tom Thornhill is the Fiser Group partner in charge of Tax and Accounting. He joined the firm in 2002. Tom Graduated from Rockhurst College in 1994 with a degree in Accounting. Tom has more than 12 years of public accounting experience. He worked locally with the firms of Donelly, Meiners, Jordan, & Kline, which is now McGladdery & Pullum and with Grant Thorton LLC. Tom is currently a member of the Missouri Society of CPA's. Tom and his wife Beth have been married for ten years. They have three children, Jack, Abby and Max. Tom of course loves to spend time with his family, but also tries to squeeze in a game of golf now and then. Tom has been a Notre Dame fan since he was a young kid and you can often find him sporting ND gear around the office the day before a big game.

Donna Williams - Medical Billing Manager dwilliams@fisergroup.com

Donna joined the Fiser Group in 2003; she came to the Fiser Group with over fifteen years of Medical Billing and Coding experience.Donna was the Billing Manager for the Hickman Mills Clinic in Kansas City, Missouri for over eight years. Due to increasing demand by Insurance Companies for coding proficiency and to obtain maximum reimbursement for the physicians Donna obtained her Certified Professional Coding Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders in 2001. Due to the ever changing nature of Insurance, she emphasizes coding for maximum reimbursement and enjoys educating physicians and billing staff on coding changes. Donna is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders of Kansas City and The Greater Kansas City Medical Managers Association.Donna attended the University of Nebraska. While attending school and working in the Healthcare field she met her husband Rick of 24 years. Donna and her husband have two sons with the youngest attending Longview College. They have lived in Raymore, Missouri since 1990. Donna has recently received her certification as a Master Gardener through the University of Missouri Extension Program and became a member of the Master Gardeners of Kansas City.

Roberta Telles - Consultant rtelles@fisergroup.com

Roberta Telles has worked in the Health Care Industry for 24 years. She started her career with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Kansas City – and has spent 12 years in Medical Practice Management within Plastic and OB/GYN specialties. She has received certification for procedural coding and medical chart auditing. She enjoys educating physicians and staff on coding changes and documentation requirements. She understands the various pressures put on physician practices in today’s health care environment. She is a member of the MGMA, GKCMMA, AAPC, NAMAS, MGMA-MO. Roberta is a Kansas City native, married for 26 years to husband Steve. They have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. She enjoys entertaining, weekends at the Lake, water sports and spending time with family and friends. Roberta joined the Fiser Group in August 2006, offering her continued growth with a diverse group of clients.

Nathan Fiser graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelors Degree in Finance. After graduation Nate was hired by Ethos Group to be a finance manager in South Bend Indiana. After gaining a few years of valuable experience, Nathan was offered the chance to manage the financial planning department at Fiser Group. This also provided the perfect opportunity to move back to the Kansas City area and be closer to family and friends. Nate and his wife Alisa have been married for almost four years. They have recently moved into a new house in Shawnee, KS. They enjoy staying active in the community by attending many social and charitable events. This year they have been able to attend the "Treads and Threads" Gala at the Kansas Speedway that benefits the Cancer Center at The University of Kansas Hospital, "Jazzoo" a benefit for The Kansas City Zoo, and "Rediscover The Holidays" a benefit for Rediscover, a non-profit community mental health program. They also love to snow ski, golf and spent time with family. Nate and Alisa fill in the rest of their time attending Chiefs, Royals, and KSU Wildcat football games.

Kimberly Schaeffer - Office Manager kschaeffer@fisergroup.com

Kimberly came to Fiser Group in early 2005 with over 16 years of office management and administrative experience. She spent the last five years learning the financial and medical industries. From 1992 to 2000, Kimberly worked at a private residential area located in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties where she wore many hats including assistant city clerk, administrative assistant, and membership director.Kimberly moved to Johnson County from Northwest Missouri where she grew up. Although she is a Northwest Missouri State Bearcat, she is a true Missouri Tiger at heart. She and Jim live in Merriam with their two young Tiger Fans, Maggie and John.

Tori O’Brien - Credentialing Dept. Manager tobrien@fisergroup.com

Tori (Victoria) O’Brien, Fiser Group’s newest manager joined the team on July 13th, 2009 and will manage the Credentialing Department. She brings with her over 7 years of credentialing experience earned while working with a local cardiology group of 55 providers.

Tori was born and raised in northern California where she spent 18 of her adult years gaining experience in the Healthcare field with seven of those years supervising the Out-patient Billing Department for a 250 bed hospital and another seven years as Staffing Coordinator for a different 250 bed hospital. In the latter position she was responsible for the 24 hr/7 days a week scheduling of RNs and Techs (650 in total) for all floors. Tori had a two-year stint between the two hospitals positions, where she managed three busy offices in San Francisco and Marin for an internationally recognized allergist.

Tori came to the Kansas City area ten years ago when her oldest daughter and granddaughter moved to the area for a life better suited to family. Consequently, Tori now has bragging rights to six grandchildren and spends as much time spoiling them as possible. Since coming to Kansas City, she’s also been actively involved in volunteer work, her favorite being Meals on Wheels where until recently, she helped feed her “friends” every Friday for three years.
